Assistant Financial Contoller

The Archdiocese of Malta is seeking to recruit an Assistant Financial Controller on a full-time indefinite basis. The selected candidate will report to the Financial Controllers and is responsible for the accounting function of diocesan entities, managing the various insurance policies, monitoring of budgets and supervising accounts, among other tasks which may be assigned from time to time according to the exigencies of the Finance Unit.

The ideal candidate must:

• Be a fully qualified accountant and warranted to practise in Malta. Candidates who are fully qualified and currently in the process of obtaining their warrant may also be considered.
• Have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in an accounts-related role.
• Have strong analytical, numeracy and problem-solving skills.
• Possess excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have a good working knowledge of accounting software packages.
• Have sound professional judgement in the review of financial information.
• Have proven organisational and time management skills.
• Be able to work both independently and in a team and adhere to the established deadlines and operational requirements.
• Be able to supervise and review the work of staff to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with established procedures.
• Be able to coordinate, manage and oversee staff effectively.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese.
• Possess a high level of discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
